Jean-Michel joined Québec International in 2005 and has worked in the life sciences sector for more than 30 years. Drawing on his extensive experience, he develops and coordinates initiatives aimed at maximizing the economic benefits associated with the life sciences sector. He uses his extensive international network to identify current market issues and trends while representing the life sciences sector's interests and promoting the sector internationally.

Jean-Michel began his professional career as a scientist at Sinquisa (subsequently acquired by DSM), South America's largest enzymatic antibiotic production plant. Until 2001, he served as technology director for Kemestrie Inc. In 2002, he became the founding president of Naturia Inc.
Jean-Michel holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, in addition to a master's of science (1994) and PhD from Laval University.
