As senior economist, Louis tracks, monitors and analyzes the main factors driving economic development in the Quebec City region. In addition to gathering and updating accurate and relevant economic information, he initiates and conducts research concerning various initiatives and business sectors. He is also a key contact on economic issues related to foreign investment, business prospecting and talent recruitment.
In addition, Louis oversees the content of the economic newsletters issued by Quebec International and the annual bulletin Economic Report and Outlook for the Quebec City CMA.
Prior to taking up his current position, Louis worked as a regional economist for the Desjardins Group, where he helped draft 16 regional economic bulletins and was involved in the production of other economic documents. He also spoke at events organized by the Desjardins Group network, local chambers of commerce and regional economic development organizations.
Louis holds a bachelor's degree in economics, together with certificates in political sciences and business administration from Laval University.
