Economic News - According to figures issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, the Quebec City census metropolitan area (CMA) recorded 2,080 bankruptcies in 2010, dropping 19.8% from 2,595 in 2009.

Quebec City CMA : an annual gain of 19,900 jobs in February

Economic News - The results for February present a mixed picture for the Quebec City CMA. On the one hand, the region had 416,700 workers last month, up from 396,800 in February 2010. This major annual gain of 19,900 jobs propelled the region into first place in the province of Quebec. On the other hand, the monthly loss of 5,200 jobs in some ways clarifies the overall situation.
