Quebec City and Lévis appear in MoneySense magazine’s list of Canada’s Best Places to Live 2013

MoneySense magazine, a leading Canadian publication dealing with online personal finance, draws up an annual ranking of cities offering the best quality of life. The ranking is based on numerous indicators, each of which is assigned a score.

The indicators include per capita income, employment rate and housing prices, together with socio-cultural infrastructure and transportation. Climate, crime rates and access to healthcare are also taken into consideration. Interestingly, Lévis is the fifth-best city in Canada in which to raise children.

The total score for each city determines the overall rankings, which are divided into three categories based on size. Quebec City and Lévis are the only urban areas in the province of Quebec to be ranked in the nationwide Top 10, in line with their high rankings in previous editions of this contest.

This provides yet another example of the Quebec City metropolitan region’s great vitality and competitiveness in the economic, social and cultural fields.
