Major American Industrial Association holds its 1st international conference in Quebec City

The Government of Quebec, Investissement Québec, Invest in Canada and Québec International are pleased to be associated with the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) professional forum that will be held in Quebec City. This is the first time that this event will be held outside of the United States. It will be a unique opportunity to showcase the assets of Canada, the province of Quebec and the Quebec City region to a select clientele of American investors. Nearly 400 participants are expected to attend this forum, which will be held from September 13 to 17 at the Quebec City Convention Centre.

 

Québec International wins two awards from the International Economic Development Council

Québec International (QI) has distinguished itself once again by earning two awards of excellence from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) at its International Conference, which was held in Fort Worth, Texas, from October 19 to 22, 2014. Québec International won Gold in the category of cities with a population greater than 500,000 for its customized e-newsletter and Bronze for its technology entrepreneurship program. Last year, IEDC presented QI with the Gold award for its Invest in the Québec City Region brochure.

The result of a partnership with Expansion Québec, which has a commercial office in San Mateo in the heart of the Valley, CONEQT provides tech companies in the Québec City region with market intelligence, development, and support services through dedicated resources for up to 6 months.

 

CBRE Announces Opening of Quebec City Office

Positive momentum is building in Quebec and the business community is responding. CBRE Limited, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, has opened a third office in the province, 18 years after the first of two offices was opened in Montreal. The new Quebec City location will provide businesses in the provincial capital with access to CBRE’s global network of 350 offices and over 44,000 real estate professionals.

 

200 Canadian Angels Descend on Quebec City for Summit, Angel of Year to be Revealed

More than 200 Angels from across Canada gathered in Quebec City for the National Angel Summit in October. The National Angel Capital Organization is holding the largest gathering of Canadian Angel Investors. The three-day summit is focusing on a range of topics highlighting the theme of accelerating the Angel Asset Class. One of the goals of the Summit, organizers say, is to discuss the standardization of Angel Investing documents.

Swiss company ABB continues to grow in Québec City

A leader in energy and automation technology, ABB has decided to build new facilities in the Espace d’innovation Michelet in Québec City, a $20-million project. The new, larger building will accommodate its 200 employees and allow ABB to pursue its growth. 

 

Second International Summit of Cooperatives kicks off today in Quebec City

The second International Summit of Cooperatives officially opens today in Quebec City. Over 3,000 participants from 93 countries will gather from October 6 to 9 to discuss the main challenges facing cooperatives. The Summit will attract internationally renowned speakers, including a Nobel Prize winner and numerous key figures from the political and economic spheres, around the common theme of "Cooperatives' Power of Innovation". This prestigious international gathering is a joint initiative of Desjardins Group and the International Co-operative Alliance.

 

Cominar Exceeds $8 Billion in Assets
