2014 marks the 75th anniversary of Sanimax, a flagship of Quebec's agri-food industry. This third-generation family organization, which rose through the ranks to occupy a dominant position in a large scale market, continues to expand its borders while maintaining its Quebec roots. Since 1939, its mission – providing environmental solutions and added-value to the agri-food Industry – remains paramount.

 

Loblaw, Boulangerie St-Méthode and Hypo Délices join Melior: War against sodium has been declared

Loblaw Companies Limited, Boulangerie St-Méthode and Hypo Délices, an allergen-free and gluten-free food processing company, recently joined the Melior program, having committed to reducing the amount of sodium in their products, among other improvements. That's great news for Quebec consumers, who will now be able to enjoy healthier foods that contain less salt every day, without changing their grocery shopping habits.

 

Exceldor confirms the purchase of P&H Foods

Following the recent decision rendered by the Competition bureau, Exceldor confirms its purchase of P&H Foods, a turkey processing plant in Hanover, Ontario, and an investment in Golden Valley Farms, a further processing plant in Arthur, Ontario. These two plants will continue to produce products under the Butterball brand, as per a License Agreement with Butterball LLC, whose head office is located in Garner, North Carolina.

 

Cosmétopée Project: today Québec Region and Province, tomorrow the world!

The Cosmétopée Québec database is the first practical manifestation of Projet Cosmétopée initiated by the French Cosmetic Valley. Developed here by Québec International, the database lists Québec’s main forest and marine resources .Québec International Business Development Director – Life Sciences, Jean-Michel Garro, presented the Cosmétopée Québec project at 2014 Beyond Beauty in Paris ealier this september.

800 agricultural engineers from around the globe to meet in Québec City in 2020

After hosting the 17th World Congress of CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) in 2010, Québec City is set to give a repeat performance as the home of the 5th International Conference of CIGR. Over 800 agricultural engineers from around the globe are set to meet at the Québec City Convention Centre from June 13 to 17, 2020.
