Opsens receives largest-ever order for its OPP-W fiber optic pressure and temperature sensors

Opsens is pleased to announce that it has been awarded its most single significant contract to-date, to supply and install 48 OPP-W sensor systems in an Alberta SAGD oil sands project. The contract has been placed by an oil and gas producer with a multibillion dollar market capitalization. The systems will monitor pressure and temperature during the working life of the wells.

As part of the Program of Chairs in Educational Leadership (CEL), Université Laval Rector Denis Brière and Executive Vice-rector, Development, Éric Bauce launched a new Chair in Educational Leadership devoted to Distance Education in computer science and software engineering - Cisco. Also in attendance were Cisco Canada President Nitin Kawale and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, André Darveau.

Acuren to Deploy Creaform’s Pipecheck Solution for Pipeline Integrity in North America

Acuren Group Inc (AGI) and Creaform have entered into a commercial and technical partnership agreement covering the deployment of the Pipecheck inspection solution in North America for external corrosion and mechanical damage on pipelines and in facilities. Acuren has been an early adopter of laser scanning technology, having worked with the technology since 2009. In response to strong demand, Acuren has just taken delivery of 20 Pipecheck systems and had their technicians trained by Creaform. The systems are being deployed across Canada and the U.S. to support the needs of their clients.

In the wake of their recent agreement to co-produce the Squidsseries with Moonscoop, Frima continues expanding their animation footprint with an ambitious new project, Phoenix Park.

 

Arcane Joins the Khronos Group

Arcane Technologies has joined the Khronos Group. Khronos Group manage well known API specifications such as OpenGL,OpenCL and WebGL. The Khronos Group is an international industry consortium  focused on the creation of open standard, royalty-free application programming interfaces (APIs) for authoring and accelerated playback of dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms and devices. Khronos members may contribute to the development of Khronos API specifications, vote at various stages before public deployment, and accelerate delivery of their platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts and conformance tests. Companies including AMD, Apple Intel, Imagination, Nvidia and Sony are all board members.
