Canam Group Acquires an Engineering Firm Specialized in Wood Structures

Canam Group announces the acquisition of a 66% interest in an engineering firm that specializes in wood structures. The transaction, the amount of which has not been disclosed, was completed in the final days of 2013. The company, called Massif Technologies, is composed of a group of engineers and technicians who are specialized in designing non-residential buildings featuring a wooden frame or wood components. The Company, which has offices in Quebec City and Saguenay, also has expertise in project management. 

 

Clearview Capital completes acquisition of Novik

Novik annouces today the completion of the previously announced acquisition of Novik by Clearview Capital Fund III, LP by way of a plan of arrangement pursuant to the Business Corporations Act (Québec). On February 12, 2014 the Superior Court of Québec granted its final order approving the Transaction and onFebruary 14, 2014, 9293-3985 Québec Inc., a company indirectly controlled by Clearview, acquired all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Novik, pursuant to the terms of an arrangement agreement entered into between Novik, Clearview and the Purchaser on December 20, 2013. 

 

The city of Québec joins the Electric Circuit - The city plans to install 18 charging stations for electric vehicles

The mayor of Québec, Régis Labeaume, and the partners of the Electric Circuit announce that the city of Québec is joining the public charging network and will improve the availability of charging for electric vehicles on its territory. Over the next two years, the city will acquire 18 Level 2 (240 V) charging stations, which will be installed off-street, in municipal lots.

 

Sigma Industries announces an important job creation at its Beauce facilities

Sigma Industries, a manufacturing company specializing in the production of composite components, announces the creation of approximately 50 direct jobs and about 15 indirect jobs at the René Composites Materials Ltd. facilities located in Saint-Éphrem-de-Beauce and Sainte-Clotilde-de-Beauce.

 

An important partnership creating jobs and consolidating Quebec's energy supply

Louis-Marie Beaulieu, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Groupe Desgagnés and Ross R. Bayus, President of Valero's Canadian Operations are pleased to announce the signing of a landmark agreement. The two companies have formed a joint venture, Transport Maritime Saint-Laurent inc. that has acquired two Panamax-class ships. These ships will serve to transport, among others, crude oil from Valero's Montreal East Terminal to its refinery in Lévis, on the south shore of Quebec City.

WestJet Encore says bienvenue to Quebec City

WestJet announces the launch of new, non-stop twice-daily service between Toronto and Quebec City, Quebec, effective March 15, 2015. Using WestJet Encore's fleet of Canadian-made Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft, the new service will replace WestJet's current daily service on board its Boeing Next-Generations 737s.

 

Davie's new quality management system receives ISO 9001:2008 certification

On November 28th, 2013 Davie has earned the ISO 9001:2008 certification for its new integrated management system. The quality-management certification has been awarded to Davie for meeting rigorous criteria for assuring quality in the products and services it provide its customers. The ISO 9001:2008 certification follows a significant capital expenditure program this year which resulted in a broad range of facility and systems upgrades. These include the installation of a state-of-the-art integrated facility management system.

 

Université Laval Joins the Electric Circuit

The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the inauguration of six new public charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) on the campus of Université Laval. Blessing of the most powerful harbor tug built in Canada

Today, Ocean proceeded with the blessing of its newest tug OCEAN TUNDRA, built at Ocean Industries shipyard, located on Isle-aux-Coudres. The traditional blessing ceremony was held in the presence of the President and the First Vice President and General Manager of Ocean, Gordon Bain and Jacques Tanguay, as well as Sophie Piette, first female pilot on the St. Lawrence and godmother of the ship.

 

La Caisse Injects another $100 million into the Québec Manufacturing Fund

La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the main sponsor of the Québec Manufacturing Fund (QMF), has announced the injection of another $100 million into the fund.
