Québec City hosted nearly 1,500 participants at the Winter World Masters Games

Nearly 1,500 athletes and their entourages came to Québec City from the four corners of the planet to compete in the Winter World Masters Games, January 31 to February 8, 2015. Competitors age 30 and over will participate in over 2,000 events.

 

Business tourism generates major economic impact

March 31, the Québec City Convention Centre has hosted 156 events, including a remarkable 17 international conferences. It all adds up to 155,000 room-nights at local hotels, with economic spinoffs from some 210,000 convention goers estimated at $101 million. Another 27 international conferences and meetings will have come and gone by December 31, 2016.  

 

Hilton Québec is in the top 50 hotels servicing group travelers in 2014

Servicing the best in online group travel, HotelPlanner.com and Meetings.com announces the compagny’s 204 top 50 group and meeting friendly hotels. In Canada, only 10 hotels received this award, two in the province of Québec but only one in Québec city : the Hilton Québec.

 

International cruises: the Port of Québec wins “Best Destination Experience” Award

For the fifth time in its history since 2004, the Québec Port Authority (QPA) won “Best Destination Experience”, awarded annually by the prestigious Cruise Insight magazine. The QPA was awarded the coveted prize at Cruise Shipping Miami, the cruise industry’s biggest conference of the year. This recognition is awarded to ports that are the highest rated by passengers.
