Greyhound orders 55 additional coaches from Prevost

Prevost announced that it has received an order for 55 more X3-45 coaches from Greyhound in addition to the two orders it received earlier in the year, for a total of 145 vehicles. Greyhound is well known for its concern for the safety of its passengers and drivers. Prevost is proud to meet the strict requirements of the largest intercity bus company in North America. "We worked with Greyhound to design a vehicle with lots of innovations plus an array of safety features that exceed the most stringent industry standards," said Gaétan Bolduc, president and CEO of Prevost.

 

Canam Group Completes the Acquisition of a Steel Joist Plant in Arizona

Canam Group, specialized in the design and fabrication of construction products, today announced the completion of a transaction by its U. S. subsidiary, Canam Steel Corporation, that was announced on April 29, 2013 to acquire the steel joist fabrication assets of Quincy Joist Company, a subsidiary of Schuff International, Inc. These assets, which are located in Buckeye, Arizona, include all equipment and inventory.

 

Quebec-based COMACT Expands Manufacturing to South Carolina

COMACT, a subsidiary of the BID Group of Companies, announced today that it will be establishing a new COMACT USA manufacturing facility in South Carolina. The strategic location places COMACT USA in the heart of one of the world’s busiest forestry areas. Ultimately, the new location will drastically decrease time-to-market and related costs, as compared to products that would otherwise be shipped from one of BID/COMACT’s Canadian locations.

 

Canam wins $33 million in highway contracts

Structal-Bridges, a Canam Group division has been awarded five contracts valued at nearly $33 million to rebuild or replace highway infrastructure in Canada and the United States.

 

United Nation’s Environment Programme’s Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative to meet in Québec City

Québec City will host the United Nation’s Environment Programme’s Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI) Symposium in May 2014. Some 60 countries will be represented May 12 and 13, 2014 at the Québec City Convention Centre during the annual event where sustainable policies and practices for buildings will be promoted.
