Smart21: Quebec City takes the first step towards being named the Intelligent Community of 2014

For the third time in its history, Quebec City has been selected as one of the Smart21 Communities of the Year. This international honour was awarded by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), an independent New York-based organization dedicated to studying the economic and social aspects of communities using innovative new technologies. The announcement was made by one of the ICF’s co-founders, Louis Zacharilla, at a symposium organized by Walsh University’s Institute for the Study of the Intelligent Community in Ohio. Some 400 applications were received from cities and regions around the world.

 

20th International Conference on Magnetic Resonance (ISMAR ) 2017 in Québec City

The Québec City Convention Centre will host the 20th International Conference on Magnetic Resonance (ISMAR ) 2017 in Québec City. July 23 to 28, 2017, 700 scientists will gather in Québec City for this prestigious international conference. Jocelyn Guertin, Sales Manager at the Québec City Convention Centre, and Michèle Auger, Professor at the Department of Chemistry at Québec City’s Université Laval, presented Québec City’s candidacy in Rio de Janeiro during the 18th ISMAR Conference last May.

True to its sustainable development commitment, the Québec City Convention Centre is one step closer to carbon neutrality. The Convention Centre compensated the 101,101 km traveled by its team between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013

 

Montréal and Québec City stand out as international convention destinations

First and 11th respectively in North America, Montréal and Québec City rank favourably for the number of conventions hosted and organized by international associations according to the 2012 rankings of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).

 

ABA names the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands the Best Canadian Event for 2014

The American Bus Association (ABA) announced lately that the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands, to be held on August 19 to 24, has been designated as the best Canadian event for 2014 by an experienced expert tourism industry selection committee. This nomination also place the Festival as one of the Top 100 Events in North America, for a third time in a row.
