Innovente: St. Patrice Project Update and Annual Results

The cogeneration plant acquired in Newfoundland in 2011 was dismantled, transported to St. Patrice, and approximately 85% of the reconstruction has been completed so far. Innoventé plans to finalize the construction work in the coming weeks and intends to commission the cogeneration plant in October. This schedule would result in a commissioning of the plant two months earlier than the planned date in the contract signed with Hydro-Quebec. 


CO2 Solutions Granted Broad U.S. Patent

CO2 Solutions, an innovator in the field of enzyme-enabled carbon capture technologies, announced today that it has been granted U.S. Patent 8,277,769, “PROCESS FOR TREATING CARBON DIOXIDE CONTAINING GAS”.  The patent broadly covers the use of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA), or an analogue thereof, for the efficient capture of carbon pollution from various gas streams with any aqueous solvent or solution.

The second year of construction of the Seigneurie de Beaupré Wind Farms 2 & 3 is being completed on time and on budget. This project, valued at close to $800 million, will have 126 wind turbines and is one of the largest wind farms currently being built in Canada and the largest construction site in the Greater Quebec City area. The site, which employs more than 400 workers a day, has changed greatly since the groundbreaking ceremony in April 2011. Today, more than 30 wind turbine towers have been erected and over 75 km of the 115-km electrical collector system has been buried. Project commissioning is slated for December 2013.


H2O Innovation awarded CAD$6.5 million in contracts for municipal and industrial water treatment systems

 H2O Innovation announced that it was recently awarded $6.5 million in new contracts. These new contracts will see H2O Innovation provide custom-built water treatment systems to industrial and municipal end-users in the United States and Canada. These contracts were awarded to H2O Innovation before the end of its first quarter of fiscal 2013, ended September 30, 2012. They bring H2O Innovation’s order backlog for water treatment systems to $20.4 million as of September 30, 2012. H2O Innovation continues to develop steadily in its three main growth vectors: municipal, energy and natural resources.

The Société des établissements de plein air du Québec Joins The Electric Circuit

The founding partners of The Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq) to install seven public charging stations for electric vehicles over the next few weeks. Two will be installed at the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, one at the Aquarium du Québec, another at the Station touristique Duchesnay, and one each at Mont-Saint-Bruno, Îles-de-Boucherville and Oka national parks.
