Ubisoft marks fifth anniversary in Quebec City

In conjunction with its fifth anniversary, Ubisoft announced that it would be expanding onto the fourth floor of its building in Quebec City. Since setting up operations in the capital, Ubisoft has carried out a dozen major projects generating sales of over five million copies worldwide. So far, the company’s investments in Quebec City have totalled $77 million.


Hat trick for Frima!

Frima recently unveiled Young Thor, its latest video game. Developed in partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment and Telefilm Canada, it is the company’s third original game to be fully designed in Quebec City this year, coming on the heels of Zombie Tycoon and Widgets Odyssey.

De Marque technology scores big in Italy

Italy’s first digital book distribution platform is based on technology developed by Quebec City-based De Marque. This technology is also used by publishers in Quebec (www.entrepotnumé and France ( The company also announced the launch of a free iPad application developed in association with Mirego.

Opsens selected by the PTRC

Opsens was recently selected by the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) to design and produce a new portable device used to test well pressure and CO2 storage well integrity.

Wi-fi network weaves its web

Internet access for 45,000 ZAP Quebec users is now easier than ever thanks to the creation of 266 official “hotspots” in Quebec City. The rollout of the free wireless network is now proceeding in the city of Lévis.
