The Quebec City region and Quebec International have shone once again in US-based Site Selection magazine’s “Best to Invest” rankings for Canada, which recognize the country’s economic development champions. The region placed second in the list of “Top Canadian Metros”, while Quebec International was once again named the “Top Canadian Economic Development Group”.
The Quebec City metropolitan area fared better this year, moving from third to second place in the “Top Canadian Metros”,edging out Toronto. This category recognizes the economic performance of Canada’s metropolitan regions. The final result is obtained by compiling various major investment projects. This ranking provides further proof of the region’s economic strength. The Quebec City CMA came in behind the region of Hamilton, Ontario.
In addition, the efforts of Quebec International’s team were rewarded once again as the organization was named the “Top Canadian Economic Development Group” for the sixth year in a row. This select group is made up of the country’s top-performing economic development agencies. The criteria established by Site Selection magazine include the number of projects having a regional impact, the ability to generate partnerships, proactiveness, the implementation of innovative programs, the quality of economic information distributed and the quality of web-based communication tools.
