In connection with the final round of Devtech 50, one of Quebec's leading high-tech entrepreneurial competitions, Quebec International cordially invites the business community to attend a presentation by Eric Ries, the renowned US author specializing in high-tech startups, on November 10 at the Hilton Hotel in Quebec City.

This event will provide a unique opportunity to watch the 2011 edition's 10 finalists as they present overviews of their companies to a panel of judges tasked with determining the winners of eight different prizes, valued at more than $90,000 in total. The finalists this year are ArcBees, B-Temia, Caristix, Devolutions, Domax Group, Gullivert Technologies, Memostars, Second Cycle, Veridis Solutions and XpertSea Solutions.

The opening seminar will focus on the concept of lean startups, as promoted by Mr. Ries. Lean startups are a major marketing trend that is literally revolutionizing how high-tech products are developed and sold. One of Silicon Valley's genuine success stories, Mr. Ries published The Lean Startup in mid-September 2011, which made it to #2 on the New York Times non-fiction bestsellers list less than one month later.

A lunch seminar will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be followed by the "elevator pitch" competition and the business plan presentation. The awards will be presented at the reception beginning at 6:00 pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend the various activities. The event will be hosted by Sigrid Ellefsen, Director of Sales and Marketing at TELUS and collaborator on the Generation INC TV program.

This second edition of Devtech 50 is made possible thanks to the support of various partners. In addition to the support of Essor Strategies, which is serving as the "Presenter" partner, the event features the participation of "Gold" partners such as the Business Development Bank of Canada, the Quebec City Local Development Centre (CLD-Québec) and Deloitte, as well as "Silver" partners, including Inno-Centre, Teralys Capital and Norton Rose. Anges Quebec and Niviti are also event partners.
