Finding Inspiration in the Region’s Life Sciences Sector

On March 28, over 50 life sciences representatives from the Québec City region attended the first 2019 conference in the Des succès inspirants! series.

Several times a year, this series of events brings together businesses, research centres and funding organizations from Québec City’s life sciences sector. The series was created to highlight the achievements of local organizations, share best practices and promote interdisciplinarity in order to stimulate business, research and industry knowledge.

This time, TOPMED had centre stage. The college technology transfer centre supports healthcare organizations, more specifically working in adaptation, rehabilitation and mobility.

The event started with a tour of TOPMED’s facilities, a great opportunity to see some of the industrial projects being developed by the organization. Afterwards, TOPMED General Manager Claude Morin gave a conference summarizing the centre's capabilities and realizations. The presentation also featured a demonstration of one of the research institute’s projects: the care of vulnerable individuals with Nao, a playback robot designed to assist people in performing exercises at an adapted pace.

The event closed with a networking cocktail. The next conference in the series will be held on April 18 and will feature the CERVO research centre. Registration is now open.

The 2019 edition of the Des succès inspirants! series was organized by Québec International and the life sciences cluster, in collaboration with Medicago and BIOQuébec.
