Unlocking the Mysteries of the Brain with CERVO

On April 18, about 60 people were at the CERVO research centre attending the second 2019 conference in the Des succès inspirants! series.

Several times a year, this series of events brings together businesses, research centres and funding organizations from Québec City’s life sciences sector. The series was created to highlight the achievements of local organizations, share best practices and promote interdisciplinarity in order to stimulate business, research and industry knowledge.

CERVO was the perfect place for this activity. As one of Canada’s leading neuroscience and mental health centres, CERVO represents over 200 people and conducts several joint projects with businesses.

The first part of the activity consisted in a tour of the CERVO research centre’s facilities, followed by a presentation by Yves de Konick, who explained the centre’s work, services and support projects. This overview gave a good idea of the extent of research performed there.

As usual, the event ended with a networking cocktail, allowing participants to discuss the day’s conference and exchange with many stakeholders in the life sciences sector.

The 2019 Des succès inspirants! series was organized by Québec International and the life sciences cluster, in collaboration with Medicago and BIOQuébec. The next conference will take place in the fall.
